Teddy Bear English is a revolutionary multimedia English course for elementary schools and elementary school age children (ages 6 to 12). The teaching approach is based on academic studies on how children acquire language. Children acquire language by listening, interacting, speaking, and participating in activities before they learn grammar and writing. Therefore, vocabulary development, listening comprehension, and speaking are emphasized. Phil Hubbard, Ph.D. of Stanford University developed the underlying educational approach.
Phase I of Teddy Bear English will include 4 units with 5 lessons in a unit.  Phase I is expected to be completed by April, 2003.  The first two units were completed as of the end of September, 2002.  Each unit will contain enough content for a school year if English is taught one day per week (i.e., approximately 30-35 hours of material).  Individual lessons in Units 1 and 2 contain vocabulary, sight & sound word recognition (See, Hear, Say), conversation, songs, and games/activities. From Unit 3, The "See, Hear, Say" section of the lesson is replaced by a short story illustrated by Flash animation (Teddy Bear Stories).

Phase II is being planned for sometime in 2004 but at this time there is not a definite commitment to completing the second phase.
